Gifted Artist and Sculptor

Albin Polasek and wife were dear friends of the Sanfords. Visit the
Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens at www.polasek.org .The
Sanfords were supporters of the foundation that bears his name.

In 1963 during one of the Sanfords trips to Italy they befriended a young artist
John Grioni. Later this artist came to stay with Harold and Grace at their
 Winter Park home in the fall of 1964. The stay lasted six and a half months.
An exhibit featuring Mr. Grioni works was given, no record if it took place
at the sculpture museum. A charcoal portrait of Albin Polasek was
 made and was placed about the china cabinet on permanent display in
the Sanford's home. A portrait of Harold and Grace was done during this visit.

In 2002 Grace donated these works to the museum. How fitting
that these 4 friends would end up in a museum. Together again.
A fall 2003 exhibit is planned.
