Edith Royal

 First Lady of Dance

Edith (Edie) to close friends, was a pioneer and Icon in the dance world.
Performing for Royalty and Presidents this Prima Ballerina taught dance to
many generations of families in Orlando, Florida. She with husband Bill opened
The Royal Dance Studios.
She was instrumental in bringing The Nutcracker Ballet to Orlando as a yearly
tradition.

Edith, Grace and I were friends through
The Wednesday Music Club of Orlando and Winter Park. Grace was
chairman on the scholarship committee. Edith would bring her students
to the club when we featured a dance program. I would help with the dance auditions.

As a child I too had taken dance in Baltimore, Maryland.

Edith and I would co-chair the Ways & Means committee at the
Music Club.
I had a wish come true...
I got to befriend and work with someone I really admired.

Lesson Learned: If you are taking the drug Coumadin Do Not
get a massage! Her death was preventable.
