Exemptions On Property Tax
In the state of Florida there are exemptions on the
Property Tax.
Below example A are the categories of deductions allowed. I'm
not
clear on the age for the elderly deduction. Grace was 96 years old,
we had no problem with her qualifying.
Although we got Grace signed up for all available exemptions, the
(Full use of Wheelchair - Exemption from Property Tax)
is based on income. Grace made too much to qualify. I tried.
Prompt Service If You Register
Since Grace lived alone she subscribed to Lifeline.
(Emergency
help when you press a button on the necklace she was to wear.)
This also pertains to the use of this device. If you
register with your
Electric & Telephone Company you will be first on the list should
there be an outage. Grace needed both working to call Lifeline.
The Insurance Companies
When dealing with insurance companies, any change to
the
original prescription, needs to go through the doctor first.
Grace was entitled by the insurance company to receive twelve hours of
care a day. The doctor ordered eight hours to start. Grace
complained
she needed someone with her twelve hours. She was entitled. So I called
Home Healthcare first and ordered four more hours. Insurance company
almost didn't pay. After a talk on the phone and a new prescription from
the
doctor we got things straighten out.
Emergency Evacuation Services
In case of Hurricane or emergency weather that
warrants
evacuation. Grace was registered as special needs. Grace slept on
a hospital type bed for her scoliosis, a cot at the armory would not do.
Hurricane in 2002 she decided to weather the storm at
home. She
was not leaving her home. With Mitch who rented the studio
apartment, they both stayed safely inside. Just thankful the storm
was not severe. Grace & I were glad that Mitch was there when I
couldn't be. Thanks!
Annual Fee on Bank Cards
Grace had only one credit card, this card carried a
$21 annual fee.
I called the bank and requested the fee be removed. Example B |
